1N4007 and SM4007 are actually diodes of the same model series, with the difference being the different model prefixes, so the final difference is reflected in the packaging form. 4007 is a commonly used rectifier diode in low-frequency power supplies, with a current of 1A and a withstand voltage of 1000V. 1N4007 belongs to the 1N4000 series of rectifier diodes, and similar models in the same series include 1N4001-1N4006. The main difference between different models is the withstand voltage.

The commonly used package for 1N4007 is the direct insertion package, also known as the DO14 package. However, diodes of the same model series may have different packages, such as SMA chip package and SOD123 chip package.
The parameters of SM4007 and 1N4007 are exactly the same, and they are also 1A1000V rectifier diodes, which can be divided into more than 4001-4007 models. The main difference between SM4007 and 1N4007 lies in the packaging.
SM4007 has a cylindrical plastic packaging structure, which is the MELF packaging.
However, this cylindrical packaging of 4007 is not commonly used. Although the parameters of diodes of the same model in different packages are basically the same, the relationship between withstand voltage and current also needs to be considered when using them. Different packaged diodes may have slight differences in manufacturing mechanisms, which can cause differences in some parameters, such as thermal resistance.
